I love autumn –
Being from Seattle I grew up with Husky Games, maple leaves and burnt orange autumns with trips to Snoqualmie Falls for the stunning drive & stone cut oatmeal, in New York we’d road trip to Vermont for the epic foliage and rich amber Grade A maple syrup and in Italy we look out our front window in wander and delight as the seasons change before our eyes. It’s not the striking reds in the leaves, but the oranges, yellows and too soon they turn to brown, it’s the stacks of wood on the side of the road, there’s no football marching bands, but the stampede of mushroom & truffle hunters through our yard, and I’ll make due without my beloved maple syrup since I can smell the roasted chestnuts and spiced wine wafting through every medieval village…
