After 8 years of living in the Italian countryside means we have learned to adapt with the seasons. (Growing up in the suburbs of the States does not prepare you for this sustainable lifestyle.) It effects everything we do from the food we grow & eat, to the wood we chop/haul and burn we live in a rhythm and have grown to love it. Autumn has fully arrived in Le Marche, Italy we wake to gun-fire from the nearby hunters, pick endless trees of apples bundled in heavy wool sweaters and pull on the wellies to forage for mushrooms in the woods behind our house…the leaves on the trees are falling and soon winter will arrive. But for now – we enjoy our apple & pear harvest!
